This class is the place to start. Learning your machine, understanding patterns, measurements and fabric types, plus putting in a zipper will be covered. T1 4:30-7:30p.m. W City Center Feb. 21 $79 Petit Fours and Afternoon Tea (LLC 2803) Explore the world of small pastries (petit fours) and how to incorporate teas in baking. Make recipes such as London fog scones, chamomile carrot cake or honey lavender shortbread and end the class with a warm cup of tea and your fresh baked goods! Methods and concepts covered include: edible flowers, flavor infusion, flavor profiles, biscuit method, creaming method, compound butters and glazing. T1 5-8p.m. M City Center March 4 $99 What Will It Bee? Cake (LLC 2805) Join us for this cake making and decorating class. Students will be baking a smooth, soft lemon cake with an even better lemon filling. While that is baking, we will be creating little fondant bees and decorations to put on our cake. T1 5:30-8:30p.m. W City Center Feb. 28 & March 6 $119 Oodles of Strudel (LLC 2807) Students will enjoy a Saturday morning making two strudels, one sweet and one savory. Not only will they get to enjoy them in class, but there will be plenty to take home. We will be using filo dough to create these delicious pastries. We will also enjoy some delicious coffee. T1 10a.m.-1p.m. S City Center March 9 $79 Artisan Bread (LLC 5947) Make artisan loaves and take them to the next level by creating unique flavors such as garlic rosemary ciabatta, blueberry pecan sourdough or citrus vanilla challah. Methods covered and taught include: autolyze, bread starters, gluten development, stenciling, decorative scoring and how to pre-steam and create a proofer at home. T1 4-7p.m. F City Center March 22 $99 No-Churn Ice Cream (LLC 2809) Learn how to make no-churn ice creams that will make you want to never buy it from the store again. Create classic flavors and invent your own – ending the class with a sundae (complete with homemade caramel sauce and hot fudge) and soda float bar! Methods and concepts taught: ice cream method, overrun, flavor parings, differences between gelato and ice creams, sugar caramelization and flavor infusion. T1 5-8p.m. M City Center March 25 $79 Print, Cut, Bake & Decorate (LLC 1221) During this two-day class, you'll make your very own 3D-printed cookie cutters, cut your cookies, decorate your cookies and then enjoy! During the first day of the class in the 3D Printing Lab at Romeoville Campus, you will render a file, transfer it over to a 3D printer and let it print your cookie cutters. Use those personalized cutters the following week at City Center Campus to cut and bake your cookies. You'll also learn some basic techniques needed to flood and decorate your cookies.
