Students must use clay purchased at JJC and the studio clear glaze. If they choose to purchase an alternate glaze, students are asked to only use studio glazes approved by JJC. For ages 14 and up. No artistic ability or experience necessary. All tools, glazes and 25 pounds of recycled clay will be provided. Students may purchase additional clay from JJC. For ages 14 and up. T1 8-10a.m. S Main Feb. 8-April 12 $199 Beginning Wheel Throwing (LLC 5337) Learn wheel throwing basics including centering, opening, and pulling vessels. Then form cylinders, bowls, and other shapes. You’ll also learn how to evaluate the form and how it serves the vessels function. 25 pounds of recycled clay will be provided, but students can purchase additional clay from JJC if they wish. Please bring a Basic Pottery Tool Kit( sponge, needle tool, wire clay cutter, wooden trimming tool and ribbon sculpting tool) to class. Previous experience in basic hand-building is helpful but not required. During this class, you will smell 12 different primary aromas and 12 different secondary aromas in wine, without seeing what they are. You will then analize the aromas to see if you can identify them. You will be tasting 4 different wines and walked through the process of analyzing the different wines.
