This means that you must have an overall personal safety strategy in place before you need it . Learn personal safety tips and techniques needed to avoid dangerous situations including carjacking, cyber safety, home security, domestic violence, stalking and more . Classroom instruction will include psychology of criminal predators, common weaknesses criminals take advantage of, use of personal safety devices, mental preparedness and a variety of crime prevention strategies that are practical, inexpensive and easy to follow . These strategies can be integrated into your everyday life to avoid becoming a victim of crime . This NRA training seminar is not a firearms instruction course and does not include instruction in physical combat self-defense . T1 1-5p.m. T Main July 11 $75 Illinois Concealed Carry In order to apply for an Illinois concealed carry permit, student must successfully complete both the N .R .A . Basic Pistol Course (8 hours) and the Illinois Concealed Carry Permit Training Course (8 hours) for a total of 16 hours . Classroom sessions will be held at JJC . In order to successfully complete the Illinois concealed carry training course, students must pass a live fire test at the range . Participants do not need to own a pistol; several types will be provided for use . Training laser pistols and targets are used to teach proper grip, stance and sighting . The live fire range training will be held at Rink’s Gun and Sport, 14363 Archer Ave, Lockport, Il . Students will be responsible for paying the ange fee to Rink’s . In order to accommodate schedules, the range time will be scheduled individually with the instructor . Instructors are approved by the Illinois State Police to conduct Illinois Concealed Carry firearms training . Students are solely responsible for completing the application process through the Illinois State Police; however, the instructor will provide an ID picture and assistance with any application question . Illinois Concealed Carry (LLC 4851) *Please note that students may enroll in the Illinois Concealed Carry Permit training and apply for the Illinois Concealed Carry Permit without completing the N .R .A . Basic Pistol Course (LLC 4850) if they are an active duty, retired or an honorably discharged member of the U .S . Armed Forces . (Must provide copy of DD214 .) Students may enroll at age 20, but must be 21 to apply for the concealed carry permit . In order to enroll in the Illinois Concealed Carry course, students must possess a valid firearm owner identification car (Illinois residents), possess a valid state ID, be allowed by both federal and state law to legally possess a firearm and be able to follow all directions given by the training staff . T1 6-8p.m. R Main June 15-July 6 $110 Illinois Concealed Carry Renewal Training (LLC 5552) This course combines the required classroom instruction and range live fire test to renew a current Illinois Concealed Carry Permit . It is suggested permit holders successfully complete the renewal course and apply for renewal 120 days before the permit expiration date . Please note: Students must have valid, unexpired permit to attend . The live fire range test will be held at Rink’s Gun and Sport, 14363 Archer Ave ., Lockport, IL . Students will be responsible for their ammunition costs and paying the range fee to Rink’s . In order to accommodate schedules, the range time will be scheduled individually with the instructor . Instructors are approved by the Illinois State Police to conduct Illinois Concealed Carry firearms training . Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an electronic certificate and photograph to upload when renewing their Illinois Concealed Carry Permit . Students are solely responsible for completing the renewal process through the Illinois State Police; however, the instructor will provide an ID picture and assistance with any application questions .
